The market will be a go-to stop for breakfast, lunch, dinner, meetings, and late night drinks.

Description
Pythian Market is looking for a lead bartender to join Bar 1908 . Bar 1908 will be the main bar in the market, featuring a range of beverages from creative and seasonal cocktails to New Orleans classics. This role is extremely important to the success of the Pythian Market. As Lead Bartender, you will work with a team to design and execute the seasonal beverage program for the bar.

Responsibilities

  • Have a burning interest in the art of the Bar
  • You also have the ability to follow directions and learn/ prepare standard beverages according to Bar 1908's recipes and standards.
  • Curiosity and innovation.
  • Lead the bar team while you are on shift
  • Assist the Controller with Inventory counts
  • Oversee Bar Staff while on shift
  • Ensure all Credit Cards have been settled and that tips are accounted for during your shift
  • Maintain current and accurate knowledge of the changing menu and assist in train the bar team
  • Manage flow of guests in and around bar area while keeping bar clean and organized.
  • Ability to be proactive and to multitask!
  • Maintain a good and positive attitude and lead your team to success.
  • Properly check all guests' identification
  • Lead the bartenders with the POS system and troubleshoot problems as they may arise
  • Assist with inventory management for liquor, wine, beer, and other beverage ingredients.
  • Manage on hand par levels of cocktail mixes
  • Perform side-work as needed
  • Amazing time management and organizational skills. You actually surprise yourself because your skills are so on-point.
  • Accurately process and collect payments from guests to include using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift certificates, cards and vouchers.

Skills and Experience
Previous bartending experience
Flexible schedule; must be able to work events on nights and/or weekends.
Must be able to lift/ carry at least 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. Occasionally
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, and reach above continuously. Bartending is a workout!
Strong communication and relationship-building skills - you enjoy talking to people, and they generally enjoy talking to you.
Fluent in English on a reading, writing, communication level. Additional foreign languages are encouraged and preferred.
You are of the legal age to serve alcohol in Louisiana.
You have a responsible server's card
