The momentum of the food hall phenomenon appears unstoppable, even as the concept struggles through some growing pains.

The rush to develop new halls in markets around the country has led to some miscues. TV chef and adventurer Anthony Bourdain, for example, recently pulled out of a massive, high-profile project in New York, and other halls have reportedly turned out to be challenging for the vendors financially, despite the promise of low start-up costs.

Pythian Market adds Venezuelan food, Laurel Street Bakery to lineup

The Pythian Market, a food space that is part of the redevelopment of The Pythian Building in the Central Business District, has added two local vendors to its growing lineup.

La Cocinita, a food truck that specializes in Venezuelan cuisine, and Laurel Street Bakery, a café with fresh bagels, muffins and other home-baked specialties, plan to rent space in the market. They join Frencheeze, a food truck that offers sandwiches and other items and was the first vendor announced last November.

Rolling Restaurant Frencheeze Drops Permanent Roots in Pythian Market

The CBD’s forthcoming food hall Pythian Market has announced two of its vendors. Local rolling sandwich slinger Frencheeze food truck will put down more permanent roots in the building next year. Additionally Frencheeze owner, Jason King plans to open a new juice bar concept called Squeezed in Pythian Market that will serve salads, smoothies and fresh juices.
