About Us
Located in the heart of the bustling Central Business District of New Orleans, the Pythian Market will feature a curated group of 14 local food vendors showcasing Louisiana flavors, craft cocktails, and some of the city's best chefs. The market will be a go-to stop for breakfast, lunch, dinner, meetings, and late night drinks. Bar 1908 will be located in the center of the market. No late nights (hours of operation are 11am-10pm) and possibility of benefits after 6 months!

Pythian Market is looking for a positive and highly energetic individual to join our operations team. We will be executing craft cocktails in a fun and fast paced environment to a highly diverse mix of clientele. Bar 1908 will serve classic and neo-classic cocktails that pay homage to our New Orleans cocktail history as well as celebrate its present and future.


  • Candidate will be required to execute craft cocktails with precision and speed in a high volume fast paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude and strong teamwork mentality. Being able to work in an organized and clean manner is a must!
  • Candidate must have an intermediary knowledge of cocktail classics, spirits, wine varietals and regions as well as beer styles and local breweries. They should be able to guide a guest through the beverage menu to help them find a beverage to their liking.
  • Candidate with be responsible for preparing the bar for service everyday, which includes (but is not limited to) preparing ice as well as garnishes, re-stocking beer and wine, changing kegs, batching cocktails, juicing, cleaning and setting up bar tools, participating in a pre-shift meeting with managers and entire bar staff. They will be expected to manage their time well and be able to complete all tasks in the scheduled amount of prep time. Candidate should be able to manage heavy lifting and standing for the duration of the shift.
  • Candidate should exhibit a strong sense of urgency, great work ethic, ability to multitask while also embodying a true sense of hospitality.
  • Candidate must possess a willingness to learn and be a self starter in beverage education as well as be able to take direction and apply it immediately.

Skills and Experience
Previous craft cocktail experience preferred.
Flexible schedule
Must be able to lift/ carry at least 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, crawl, and reach above for long periods of time.
Reliable transportation to and from the Pythian Market
Strong communication and relationship-building skills - you enjoy talking to people, and they generally enjoy talking to you.
